The Federation of Greek Orthodox Choirs of the Western States-East, with its headquarters in Denver, Colorado, was founded in 1975. The organization’s name was later changed to the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Denver Church Music Federation in order to fit the new Metropolis structure of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. This new name also expanded the scope of the organization to include all Greek Orthodox Church musicians in our Metropolis.  The Federation hopes to serve the church musically through assisting in the organization, growth, and development of its member choirs, chanters, and parishes.

Seeking to encourage new music and to recognize our church composers, the Federation leadership formed a committee to oversee the publication of works for use by its member choirs and chanters. This committee has now published over forty works in various church music categories, designed to be of practical and immediate use by liturgical choirs and chanters:

  • Individual feast day hymns
  • All special hymns for a feast day (Holiday Choral Series)
  • Divine Liturgies
  • Special Services (including full service texts)
  • Service Books (hardbound)

Since its inception, our federation has maintained its efforts to improve the quality of musical worship in our parishes. We invite your comments and hope you will find these materials useful.
